Competitor Profile – Benjamin Annunziato (Travis Lutter BJJ)

Describe who you are for those who don’t know you or your accomplishments.

My name is Benjamin Annunziato I am a BJJ Brown belt under Travis Lutter. I train and compete full time as well as assist Coach Travis with beginning adults and kids classes. I won IBJJF master worlds in the purple belt, lightweight, master 1 division in 2015, and 2017. I’ve gone 3-1 so far for Fight to Win.

Who do you credit for shaping your jiujitsu?

I started training in 2010 with Coach Travis, and still there today. So he for sure helped shape my game. Still does!

How excited are you for this weekend?

I’m fucking pumped. I’m coming off of a loss recently and looking forward to getting back to winning.

Why are you looking forward to being on this card?

Being on the Dallas card is important to me. There is always an engaged crowd and the energy is awesome.

This card in particular, has my wife’s hero competing. Nathiely De Jesus has been my wife’s favorite for a hot minute. Was funny to see her reaction when she saw the lineup!

How have you been training to get ready for it?

Training and more training! Some cardio mixed in. But I pretty much train like I always do. Nothing too special.

What do you think of your opponent, Jason Bright (Genesis)

I don’t know my opponent this time. I know he’s at Genesis and I’m sure he’s a tough brown belt.

If you had to pick – win with the most boring fight in F2W history or lose with FOTN honors in the most exciting match ever – which would you choose?

Man that’s tough… I have to say the win I guess. Can’t accept losing.

Any predictions for this match?

Hard to predict too much. But if I execute my plan I’ll get my choke.

Anybody you want to thank?

Want to thank my wife who is almost 6 months pregnant with our first child and has supported me day in and out. I love you Jeneice Annunziato!

Any last words before the match?

War!
