Full Force Fighting 2011 Results

Full Force FightingThomas “The Wildman” Denny and Fight To Win Promotions combined forces in downtown Denver at the Historic Paramount Theatre to bring fight fans an upscale event Saturday night January 29, 2011.  The show featured eleven bouts, one women’s match, two titles and a main event featuring UFC hopeful Justin Salas vs. UFC veteran Rob Emerson.

Main event: 155 lb. title bout.

Justin Salas vs. Rob Emerson.  The fighters exchanged leg kicks early then off of the cage Salas got a takedown and worked GNP.  The fighters worked back to standing and exchanged strikes with Salas scoring another takedown as the round ended.  To start round two Salas flurried early with strikes then the fighters battled for a takedown with Salas ending on top.  They worked back to their feet and again traded strikes with both landing well.  Salas again scored a takedown off of the cage and both fighters were able to land strikes while on the ground. Round three  had the fighters exchanging even strikes early with each able to stun the other by mid-round.  Emerson tried for but missed a takedown and again the fighters traded strikes.  Off of a combination Salas was able to score a takedown and work strikes on the ground.  Emerson scrambled to standing and there was a final exchange of punches to end the fight.  The scorecards were read and the winner by unanimous decision was Justin Salas.

Co-Main Event: 205 lb. title bout

Cody Donovan vs. Xavier Saccamano.  Donovan got an immediate takedown and worked into full mount.  Saccamano rolled to try to escape, but Donovan secured back control and tried for an RNC.  Saccamano turned in and in a scramble the fighters worked to standing.  Saccamano jumped guard for a guillotine but Donovan escaped and set in an armbar.  Saccamano escaped the submission attempt and the fighters worked for position to end the round.  In round two the fighters worked for position in the clinch and again Saccamano jumped guard looking for a guillotine choke.  Donovan escaped and the fighters scrambled to standing.  Donovan got a takedown and worked between improving position and submission attempts. After securing back control Donovan was able to set in an RNC and get the submission victory at 3:12 of round two.      

Lumumba Sayers vs. Ed Banks.  Sayers trapped a kick to get a takedown  and work GNP  before attaining full mount.  From the top Sayers set in a head and arm triangle choke to get the submission win at 2:39 of round one.  

Jeremy Kimball vs. Aaron Romero.  Both fighters displayed aggression early with Kimball finding success with knees to the head of Romero while clinched.  At the end of a flurry Kimball was able to drop Romero and the follow up GNP got him the TKO win at :54 of round one.

Jason Lee vs. Todd Meredith.  The fighters clinched early and both landed hard shots.  Lee worked for the Thai plum and pulled down the head of Meredith into a full power knee to score the clean KO win at :38 of  round one.

Josh Cavan vs. Matt McNachay.  Cavan got a quick takedown  and worked to improve position into full mount. From there Cavan flurried with strikes while McNachay worked to improve position. McNachay was able to escape being mounted but Cavan controlled position to continue his GNP attack.  Cavan was finally able to work back to full mount and flurry with strikes to get the referee stoppage TKO win at 4:37 of round one.

Lorant T Nelson vs. Ricardo McKeney.  Nelson landed several hard punches early followed by a knee that dropped McKeney.  Nelson followed with GNP to get the TKO win at :14 of round one.

Tim Brower vs. Brandon Griffin.  Brower landed a powerful flurry of punches early but Griffin answered with a takedown into full mount.  From the top Griffin flurried with strong GNP until the referee stopped the bout giving the TKO win to Brandon Griffin at 1:19 of round one

All of the fights described below were amateur bouts.

Jeff Estrada vs. Jeremy Hastings.  Estrada got a fast takedown but Hastings quickly locked in an armbar. Estrada escaped to back control but Hastings turned in to attain full guard.  Estrada worked some GNP, but the action slowed and the referee stood the fighters as the round ended.  Round two had Estrada get an immediate slam takedown then work GNP while Hastings worked to setup submissions.  The fighters worked to standing, but just as quickly they hit the mat again with Estrada inside the guard of Hastings.  The referee stood the fighters when the action slowed and with ten seconds left Estrada got the takedown to again work GNP until the bell sounded.  Round three began with another big Estrada takedown where he was able to land his most effective GNP of the night that lasted until the bell ended the fight.  The scorecards were read and the winner by unanimous decision was Jeff Estrada.    

Tito Solis vs. Brian Scraper.  The fighters immediately clinched and flurried with punches.  The fight then hit the mat with several positional changes taking place.  A  break was called and a point taken from Solis for strikes to the back of the head. After the restart Solis got a head toss takedown and worked GNP until the round ended.  To open round two Solis came flying forward flurrying with punches that dropped Scraper.  Solis followed up on the ground with strong GNP to get the TKO win at :08 of round two.

Naylen Schmidt vs. Heather Sachleben.   Sachleben worked punches almost exclusively punches for all of round one while Schmidt favored kicks and takedown attempts.  Round two again had Sachleben working accurate head punches while Schmidt worked for but missed takedown attempts.  Mid-round Sachleben changed tactics and scored a takedown with Schmidt able to work to her feet as the round ended.  Round three  had both fighters showing extra aggression with their strikes and each working strong takedown attempts from the clinch.  To end the round the fighters clinched and worked dirty boxing. The scorecards were read and the winner by unanimous decision was Heather Sachleben.

“Of The Night” moments

Submission of the night goes to Lumumba Sayers for his head and arm triangle choke victory at 2:39 of round one.

KO/TKO of the night goes to Jason Lee for his knee strike KO that got him the win at :38 of round one.

Fight of the night goes to Cody Donovan and Xavier Saccamano for their exciting back and forth action packed bout.
