Friday night February 25, 2011 at The National Western Complex the Fight To Win fight promotion held their, Mortal Combat fight show which was tabbed as, “The Fight Show That Will Change Everything”, with the cage termed “the combat zone”, the referees (Masters) were there to “stop the fatality” and the winner’s won their bouts “by test of might.”

The main event featured two UFC veteran’s, with Cameron Dollar facing off against Alvin Robinson for the Fight To Win 145 lb. professional title.

Round one had Robinson come forward with aggressive strikes before working for a takedown. Once it hit the mat the fighters scrambled and Dollar took top position.  Robinson worked to escape but Dollar went from choke attempts to taking half mount, then full mount.  Robinson quickly reversed and worked GNP from inside the guard of Dollar.  Dollar was active off of his back with escape attempts and strikes.  In a scramble for position Robinson worked for a guillotine that Dollar escaped. The fighters continued to scramble and Robinson got back control then worked to secure a RNC.  Dollar defended the choke and after he landed several strikes Robinson turned to avoid them and Dollar took the opportunity to set in his own RNC and get the tapout victory at 4:59 of round one.

Co-Main event:

Jeremiah Martinez vs. Ryan Martinez in a professional bout.  Round one opened with a hard leg kick from Ryan.  Jeremiah shot for a takedown and Ryan sprawled, circled to back/side control (no hooks) and flurried with hard and fast GNP to get the TKO win at :51 of round one.

Alfredo Corona vs. Josh Ford for the Fight To Win 145 lb. professional title

Round one had Ford getting a takedown on his second attempt then transitioning to full mount.  Corona threw body and head punches off of his back, but when Corona tried to roll out Ford got him flattened and sank in a RNC.  Corona defended well and turned in. From full mount Ford worked strikes and again Corona rolled to escape.  The fighters scrambled for position several times with Ford working multiple submission attempts including a deep omoplata that Corona defended until Ford once more transitioned to full mount.  From the top Ford was able to transition from a topside triangle to an armbar to get the submission victory at 4:58 of round one.

Angelo Duarte vs. Ricky Johnson in a professional bout.  Round one began with Duarte landing multiple hard leg kicks.  Johnson used a flurry of punches to set up the clinch where the fighters exchanged takedown attempts culminating with Duarte shooting and Johnson diving for a kimura that he missed but used to transition to back control.  Duarte escaped and ended inside the guard of Johnson.   Duarte worked GNP as Johnson stayed active with escape attempts until the round ended.  Round two had Duarte shooting after a brief striking exchange, but Johnson defended and worked for chokes that Duarte defended before scrambling to standing.  Duarte again shot for an ankle pick and Johnson worked to set in an inverted triangle choke.  Duarte escaped the choke and Johnson transitioned to a tight heel-hook that Duarte also defended. Johnson scrambled to side control, took full mount and worked GNP to end the round.  Round three opened with Duarte swinging hard then reversing a takedown attempt of Johnson to end in full mount.  From the top Duarte worked solid GNP to set up a transition to an RNC that Johnson was able to defend.  Johnson was able to turn in then try for an inverted triangle/kimura combination. Duarte defended and Johnson rolled to his back and transitioned to a classic triangle.  The referee stood the fighters after Johnson landed what was deemed an illegal elbow strike from his back to the top/back of the head of Duarte.  Upon restarting Duarte shot and Johnson defended and worked GNP from top north/south until Duarte drove forward and ended inside the guard of Johnson.  The referee stood the fighters and they flurried with strikes until the round ended.  The scorecards were read and the winner by unanimous decision was Angelo Duarte

Michael Moser vs. Vinny Pallone in a professional bout.  Round one had Pallone come out with a strong flurry that dropped Moser.  Pallone followed him to the mat and continued to flurry with strikes until he got the TKO win at :21 of round one.

Joey Guerra vs. Lorant T Nelson in a professional bout.  Round one was all standing action with Nelson using his reach advantage to get the better of the exchanges and damage Guerra including opening a cut under the left eye of Guerra.  Round two had Guerra coming forward with determination early, but again Nelson used his reach and continued to display crisp and accurate striking.  Mid-round there was a good flurry from Guerra but the rest of the round was controlled by Nelson’s striking and footwork.  Round three saw Nelson land a good head kick early that Guerra took well.  Several times the fighters stood toe-to-toe and exchanged brutal punches with neither willing to back away.  Finally Nelson was able stagger Guerra and take standing back/side control and drag him to the mat. Once it hit the ground Nelson sank in the bulldog choke to get the submission victory at 3:51 of round three.

Garrett Culpepper vs. Josh Goldberger for the Fight To Win 170 lb. amateur title.

In round one, Goldberger stalked forward early while Culpepper countered well. Goldberger was able to get a takedown and work GNP from side control before advancing to full mount.  From the top Goldberger landed a solid and unrelenting flurry of strikes to earn the TKO win at 2:44 of round one.

Matt Tucker vs. Alonzo Garcia.  Round one showed fast and accurate combinations from both fighters with each able to hurt the other early.  The fighters clinched and each was able to land hard knees and spin the other into the cage several times with both also working for takedowns until the round ended.  Round two, Garcia worked for and got an early takedown and worked between north/south and side control while also working GNP.  Garcia momentarily had back control but Tucker scrambled to standing. Garcia quickly scored another takedown into full mount then secured back control and sunk in the RNC for the win at 1:49 of round two

Chris Metzger vs. Kevin J Hernandez.  Round one had a brief exchange before Kevin Hernandez landed a right hook that scored him a clean KO win at :12 of round one

Zach Falk vs. Nick Marr.  Round one had Marr lading first with a body kick and Falk answered with a takedown.  Falk worked GNP before Marr scrambled back to his feet and the fighters traded strikes before Marr dropped Falk, took back control and worked very hard GNP until the round ended.  Round two saw Falk start with strong combinations that Marr answered in kind.  After a brief clinch the fighters traded hard punches before Marr landed a head kick.  The fighters again clinched and traded foot stomps.  Falk landed an overhand right that caused Faulk to slip to the mat to end the round.  Round three had aggressive punches from both early before Falk got an ankle pick takedown and worked GNP until the action slowed and the referee stood the fighters.  Marr landed a hard body kick then several knees, including one that was to the head and cost Marr a penalty point.  Upon restarting Falk landed a hard body kick that Marr answered with a jumping roundhouse.  Falk shot for a takedown that Marr defended and he set in an inverted triangle that Falk defended until the bell sounded to end the fight.  The scorecards were read and the winner by unanimous decision was Nick Marr.

Kris Hocum vs. Cody Mumma. Round one saw the fighters trade hard strikes for most of the round before Hocum got a takedown. Mumma recovered to end in top north/south and work GNP before the fighters scrambled to standing to end the round.   Round two again saw good striking from both fighters with each landing hard.  Hocum shot for a takedown but Mumma defended and ended in side control after a scramble.  Mumma then let Hocum stand and each landed hard shots in and out of the clinch.  Round three once more had hard punch exchanges before Mumma staggered Hocum with dirty boxing.  Hocum dropped down for a rolling knee bar but Mumma transitioned from side control to back control and Mumma stayed active looking to escape.  Mumma worked hard GNP to set up a transition to full mount to end the round. The scorecards were read and the winner by unanimous decision was Cody Mumma

Nick Schwartz vs. Corey Kuechler.  To start round one Schwartz shot for a takedown but Kuechler defended by way of sprawl to end on top, then inside the guard of Schwartz.  Kuechler worked his GNP to set up a guard pass and after doing so Kuechler flurried with GNP to get the TKO win at 2:07 of round one.
